Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Modern Achievement in Science, Engineering and Technology (IJSET) welcomes original, high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of science, engineering, and technology. Authors are encouraged to carefully read these guidelines before submitting a manuscript.

1. Scope and Originality

Manuscripts must be relevant to the aims and scope of IJSET and should present original scholarly work.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • The work is original and has not been published previously.

  • The manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

  • All authors have approved the submitted version.

  • The submission complies with applicable research and publication ethics requirements.

2. Types of Manuscripts

IJSET considers the following types of scholarly contributions:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Short Communications

  • Technical and Applied Research

  • Interdisciplinary Research

  • Other scholarly contributions relevant to the journal's scope

3. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be written clearly and concisely in English and prepared in a professional academic format.

Where applicable, manuscripts should generally include:

  1. Title

  2. Author names and affiliations

  3. Abstract

  4. Keywords

  5. Introduction

  6. Materials and Methods / Methodology

  7. Results

  8. Discussion

  9. Conclusion

  10. Acknowledgments

  11. Funding Statement

  12. Conflict of Interest Statement

  13. Data Availability Statement

  14. References

The structure may be adapted according to the nature of the manuscript and the requirements of the research field.

4. Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and overly general wording.

5. Authors and Affiliations

All individuals who meet the journal's authorship criteria should be listed as authors.

For each author, provide:

  • Full name

  • Institutional affiliation

  • Department or research unit, where applicable

  • Institution

  • City and country

  • Email address

The corresponding author should be clearly identified and should be responsible for communication with the journal throughout the editorial and publication process.

6. Abstract

The abstract should provide a concise summary of the study and should clearly communicate its main purpose, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions.

Authors should avoid unnecessary references and unexplained abbreviations in the abstract.

7. Keywords

Provide 3–6 relevant keywords that accurately represent the main topics of the manuscript and assist with scholarly discovery.

8. Figures, Tables, and Equations

Figures and tables should be clear, appropriately numbered, and referred to in the main text.

Authors should ensure that:

  • Figures are of sufficient quality for publication.

  • Tables have descriptive titles.

  • Data presented in figures and tables are accurate and consistent with the manuscript.

  • Equations and mathematical expressions are clearly formatted.

  • Permission is obtained for copyrighted material where required.

9. References

References should be accurate, complete, and consistently formatted.

Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all references, including author names, article titles, journal titles, publication dates, volume and issue information, page numbers, and DOI information where available.

Authors should cite relevant primary and scholarly sources and avoid unnecessary or excessive self-citation.

10. Research Ethics

Manuscripts involving human participants, animals, or clinical research must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional or national requirements.

Where applicable, authors should provide:

  • Name of the approving ethics committee or institutional review board;

  • Ethics approval or reference number;

  • Informed consent information;

  • Clinical trial registration information, where required.

The journal may request supporting documentation during editorial assessment or peer review.

11. Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

All submitted manuscripts must be original.

IJSET does not support plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, simultaneous submission, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, or other forms of research or publication misconduct.

The journal may investigate suspected misconduct and may take appropriate editorial action, including rejection, correction, expression of concern, or retraction, where justified.

12. Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship should be based on substantial contributions to the research and manuscript.

All listed authors should have:

  • Made a meaningful contribution to the work;

  • Participated in drafting or critically revising the manuscript;

  • Approved the final version;

  • Agreed to be accountable for the integrity of the work.

Changes to authorship after submission require an explanation and agreement from all affected authors.

13. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation.

If no conflict exists, authors may state:

“The authors declare that they have no conflicts of interest.”

14. Funding

Authors should disclose all sources of financial or other support for the research.

If the research received no specific funding, authors may provide an appropriate statement such as:

“This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”

15. Data Availability

Authors should provide a Data Availability Statement where appropriate.

Where research data, code, materials, or other resources can be shared, authors are encouraged to make them available through suitable repositories or other appropriate means, subject to ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property requirements.

16. Submission Requirements

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript is within the scope of IJSET.

  • The work is original and is not under consideration elsewhere.

  • All authors have approved the submission.

  • The manuscript has been prepared according to these guidelines.

  • Required ethical information has been provided.

  • Figures, tables, references, and supplementary materials are complete.

  • Conflict of interest, funding, and data availability information has been included where applicable.

17. Editorial Assessment and Peer Review

Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal.

Manuscripts that meet the journal's basic requirements may be sent for peer review. The editorial process considers factors such as originality, academic quality, methodological soundness, relevance, clarity, and contribution to the field.

Possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

The final editorial decision is made by the journal's editorial team.

18. Revision

When revisions are requested, authors should carefully address the reviewers' and editors' comments and submit a revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.

Where appropriate, authors should provide a clear response explaining how each substantive comment has been addressed.

19. Article Processing Charge

IJSET charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of €170 per accepted article.

The APC is charged only after formal acceptance of the manuscript. There is no submission fee or peer-review fee.

Authors will receive payment instructions through the journal's official email address. Payment does not influence the editorial decision, which is based on the manuscript's academic and editorial evaluation.

20. Open Access and Copyright

IJSET is an open-access journal. Published articles are freely available online under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Authors retain copyright of their published work in accordance with the journal's Copyright Terms.

21. Publication and DOI

Following acceptance and completion of the publication process, accepted articles are prepared for online publication.

Published articles receive a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref, supporting persistent identification and scholarly citation.

22. Corrections and Retractions

Authors should promptly notify the journal if they discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work.

Where necessary, IJSET may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions in accordance with applicable editorial and publication ethics principles.
