Complaints and Appeals

The International Journal of Modern Achievement in Science, Engineering and Technology (IJSET) follows the principles and best-practice guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when handling complaints and appeals concerning editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, and other aspects of the publication process.

Appeals Against Editorial Decisions

Authors have the right to appeal an editorial decision when they believe that the decision was based on a significant factual error, misunderstanding, procedural irregularity, conflict of interest, or other substantive issue.

Appeals must be submitted in writing to the IJSET Editorial Office at:

An appeal should clearly explain the reasons for requesting reconsideration and, where applicable, include:

• The specific reasons for the appeal;

• Details of any factual, technical, or procedural errors;

• A clear explanation of disagreements with the editorial or peer-review decision;

• Evidence of any potential conflict of interest or other relevant concerns;

• New or additional evidence, information, references, or data that may materially affect the decision.

Appeals should focus on substantive issues related to the editorial decision rather than simply expressing disagreement with the reviewers' comments.

Handling of Appeals

Upon receipt, the editorial office will acknowledge and assess the appeal. The Editor-in-Chief or designated editorial team member may review the original manuscript, peer-review reports, editorial correspondence, and the information provided in the appeal.

Where appropriate, the journal may seek additional expert advice or initiate an additional peer-review process.

Following consideration of the appeal, the editorial decision may be:

• Upheld;

• Reconsidered;

• Returned to the authors for revision; or

• Subjected to an additional review process.

The journal aims to provide a response to appeals within one month of receipt, although complex cases may require additional time.

The decision following a properly considered appeal is final within the journal's editorial process.

Complaints concerning the editorial process, peer review, publication ethics, authorship, conflicts of interest, or other journal-related matters should be submitted to the Editorial Office at editor@ijset.com.

IJSET will investigate complaints fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with applicable publication-ethics principles. Where appropriate, the journal may consult relevant editorial policies, reviewers, editors, authors, or independent experts to establish the facts and determine an appropriate course of action.

The journal is committed to handling complaints and appeals objectively, transparently, and without discrimination or retaliation.
