  1. Authorship and Contributorship

    The International Journal of Modern Achievement in Science, Engineering and Technology (IJSET) is committed to maintaining accurate and transparent authorship practices and recognizes authorship as an important aspect of research integrity.

    Authorship Criteria

    Authorship should be based on substantial contributions to the research and manuscript. Individuals listed as authors should have made meaningful contributions to one or more of the following:

    • Conception or design of the study;

    • Acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;

    • Development of methodology or other substantial research work;

    • Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content;

    • Reviewing and approving the final version of the manuscript;

    • Accepting responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the work.

    All listed authors should have made a meaningful contribution to the work and should be able to take responsibility for their contribution.

    Author Responsibilities

    The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the journal and ensuring that:

    • All eligible contributors are appropriately listed as authors;

    • All listed authors have approved the submitted manuscript and its final version;

    • All authors agree with the order of authorship;

    • The authorship information is accurate and complete;

    • Any relevant conflicts of interest are disclosed.

    Contributors

    Individuals who have contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should not be listed as authors. Their contributions may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section with their permission.

    Examples may include administrative assistance, technical support, language editing, data collection assistance, or general supervision when these contributions do not meet the criteria for authorship.

    Changes in Authorship

    Any request to add, remove, or change the order of authors after manuscript submission must be approved by all authors, including any author being added or removed. The corresponding author should provide the journal with a clear explanation for the requested change.

    IJSET may request written confirmation from all affected authors before approving any change in authorship. Authorship changes after acceptance or publication will be considered only in exceptional circumstances and may require additional documentation or institutional confirmation.

    Disputes Regarding Authorship

    IJSET does not determine authorship disputes between authors or institutions. When a dispute cannot be resolved among the authors, the journal may request that the relevant institution or appropriate authority investigate and determine the matter.

    Publication decisions may be suspended while a significant authorship dispute is being investigated.

    Ghost, Guest, and Gift Authorship

    IJSET does not support:

    • Ghost authorship: excluding individuals who made substantial contributions that qualify for authorship;

    • Guest or gift authorship: including individuals who have not made a substantial contribution to the work.

    Authors are expected to provide an accurate and transparent account of authorship and contributions.

    Contributorship Statement

    Where appropriate, authors may provide a contributorship statement describing each author's specific contribution to the research and manuscript. Contributions should be reported honestly and should not misrepresent the role of any author or contributor.

    IJSET reserves the right to request clarification regarding authorship or contributorship when concerns arise and may take appropriate editorial action in cases of suspected authorship misconduct.
