Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Modern Achievement in Science, Engineering and Technology (IJSET) is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity and originality. Plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct are not acceptable and will be treated seriously.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the use of another person's words, ideas, data, results, figures, images, or other intellectual work without appropriate acknowledgment or citation. Plagiarism also includes presenting one's own previously published work as original without proper disclosure or citation.

Examples of plagiarism and related misconduct include:

  • Copying text, ideas, data, figures, tables, or other materials without proper citation.

  • Presenting another person's work or ideas as one's own.

  • Excessive use of text from previously published sources without appropriate attribution.

  • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication.

  • Duplicate or substantially overlapping publication.

  • Unauthorized use or reproduction of copyrighted material.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism or substantial textual similarity during the editorial and peer-review process.

The journal may use appropriate plagiarism-detection and similarity-checking tools to identify potential cases of plagiarism or inappropriate text reuse.

A similarity score alone does not automatically constitute plagiarism. The editorial team evaluates the nature, extent, location, and source of similarities before making an editorial decision.

Action on Plagiarism

If substantial plagiarism or inappropriate text reuse is identified before publication, the manuscript may be:

  • Returned to the authors for clarification or correction;

  • Rejected;

  • Subjected to further editorial or peer-review investigation.

The appropriate action will depend on the seriousness and circumstances of the case.

Plagiarism Discovered After Publication

If plagiarism or significant academic misconduct is identified after publication, IJSET will investigate the matter in accordance with its publication-ethics procedures.

Depending on the circumstances, the journal may publish a correction, issue an expression of concern, retract the article, or take other appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Authors' Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that all sources, quotations, ideas, data, figures, and other materials obtained from third parties are appropriately acknowledged and cited.

Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal and must disclose any substantial overlap with their previous publications.

By submitting a manuscript to IJSET, authors confirm that the submitted work complies with the journal's originality and publication-ethics requirements.

Ethical Standards

IJSET follows recognized principles of publication ethics and may refer to the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when investigating suspected plagiarism and related publication misconduct.
